The young American track start who won all hearts, won’t be eligible to participate the 32th Olympic Games that will take place July 28 to August 8 2021 in Tokyo, Japan.

Sha’Carri Richardson, 21, won the women’s 100-meter race at the U.S. track and field trials in Oregon last month, find herself suspended after being testing positive to marijuana.

The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) announced the positive test result June 2nd 2021, a 30 days suspension was officially confirmed, starting on June 28. But don’t mistaking it will not clear her to participate to any Olympics events after these 30 days.

SHA’CARRI NOT ELIGIBLE FOR THE U.S OLYMPICS TEAM

Richardson positive test result automatically made her not eligible for any US team selection what so ever, even if we know that she had the potential to bring a gold medal on her predilection event.
We recently reported a lot a american supporter whiting that she will be able to at least running the really withe the U.S 4x100m team, but technically it will be impossible for the only reason that the U.S trials was the ultimate qualifiers for the Olympics Games, and her failing the test make her times made during the trials no longer eligibles to be selected to join the Olympics Team.

In an interview with NBC on Friday 2nd, Richardson blamed the positive test on her use of marijuana as a way to cope with the unexpected death of her biological mother while she was in Oregon for the Olympic trials 2 days before her 100m race qualifiers.

Shortly after the 2012 Olympics, international regulators loosened restrictions on marijuana use, increasing the threshold for a positive test to a level designed to catch athletes only who were using it in the immediate hours before competition. Potential bans were reduced from two years to as little as the 30-day suspension which is what Richardson is serving.

Sha’Carri suspension has triggered a wide-ranging debate, largely in the realm of social media urging the world anti doping agency to overturn their suspension decision and even became a race bias issue into the black community.

Of course we all like to see beautiful performance made by athlete we are emotionally attached and want to see achieving great things, but we cannot change the entire anti-doping rules only to please Sha’Carri Richardson’s bad choices. Taking the decision to smoke a prohibited substance 2 days before the most important race of an athlete career. It was the most irresponsible and naive choice, knowing that with her lead status on the 100m its was practically certain for her to be controlled anyway.

I know, that so many will say that marijuana is not a performance enhancer and that it should be remove from the anti doping list. Well, I will say that you are partially right, but know that it cannot be apply to all olympics sport categories.

example:
We cannot remove marijuana from the doping list for the only reason that some sports require mental concentration and marijuana has been shown to boost the dopamine level in the brain which helps stimulate mental focus. So if we remove the marijuana from the world anti-doping list it will be an unfair advantage for “Archery” athletes who need to master that skill.

Richardson just need to seat tight, chill at home and wait for the next Olympics, which will be in only 3 years.

SIGNING PROFESSIONAL COME WITH RESPONSIBILITIES

The LSU track start signed professional for a just more than a year now, which mean that she is getting payed by her newly sponsor Nike, to run and represent the brand as a role model in different public relation events.

There is approximatively 11,236 participants for the 2020 summer Olympics Game, all of them follow the the anti-doping rules. So, what would have been the example if we were letting Richardson getting away with it, with a little slap on the wrist? What message it will give to the younger generations?

DON’T GET IT TWISTED, IT IS NOT A BLACK ISSUE

Sha’Carri’s Fans call for boycott the Olympic Games. Her positive test cost her a win in the 100-meter individual sprint along with the spot on the team, and fans getting mad after she was suspended over weed use, blaming the Olympics committee to have bias against black woman.

The 21yrs old sprinter taking aim at Olympic runner Gabby Thomas tweet after she expressed disappointment in fans who said they planned to boycott the games in support of Sha’Carri.

Many people aren’t pleased with this decision at all as another notable person, such as Olympic gold medal-winning swimmer Micheal Phelps was in a similar situation and had a far less devastating outcome.

In 2009, a leaked photo of Phelps smoking weed from a bong surfaced, making USA Swimming suspend him from competition for three months. They also said they would withdraw their financial support of him.

Kellogg‘s also noted that they wouldn’t renew their sponsorship with him. Despite this, because Phelp’s photo was leaked in 2009, six months after the 2008 Olympics and five months before the 2009 championships, it didn’t interfere with his opportunity to compete.

On the other end for Richardson, this comes into effect less than a month before the 2021 Tokyo Olympics. But the she should consider herself lucky to only have one month of suspension, which give her a chance to run the diamond league meets series and end-up the season and get paid.
